An EMT who has cheated death for most of his life finally has to pay his debt when Death comes to collect during an evening spent at a friend's home.
James seems to have the perfect life. He has a good job as an EMT, a beautiful wife, Elizabeth, and a son on the way. We quickly learn that he has doubts and fears. He’s plagued by nightmares of a strange homeless man who kills him every night. On the way to an evening with friends, James and Elizabeth nearly get into an accident. This is the first time we see one of many of James’ brushes with death. The experience rattles Elizabeth, but it’s another day for James.
Upon arriving at the new house of their friends, Mason and Georgia, it seems the two couples are about to have an enjoyable night of friendship, food, wine, and video games, to break the new place in. Their pleasant evening turns dark as the group is haunted by mysterious figures banging on windows and bizarre creatures stalking them outside, not to mention visions and hallucinations progressively falling upon him
